Entries:
————————————————
-There are no open entries to this contest. The participants for this contest were invited based on their participation in the custom’s forum as well as the customizing community in general. There were several slots allocated to the public at the beginning of the competition. In order to be considered in future competition’s, please keep active on the board and continue to make our community strong and prosperous.
-Each participant MUST pay an entry fee. The entry fee is a one-time cost of $100. The entry fee will cover the costs of expenses incurred for the contest and will be used toward organizing the final summit and showcase at the end of the Clash of the Customizers. You may submit your entry fee no later than August 1. You can send separately through the mail (concealed cash, check (Payable to 3R Customs), or money order), or via PayPal (PayPal or credit card).
-If you do not pay your entry fee, your shoes will be automatically put up for auction and if you are still in the Clash of the Customizers, then your current battle may be forefeited.
-If you wish to submit your entry fee via PayPal (or credit card), click here
-Each participant will be issued a due date based the day their battle occurred in the bracket. The participant’s pair must be shipped and received BY THE DUE DATE. The DUE DATE is exactly one month from the day their last battle occurred. For ex: If my battle is on July 1 and win that battle, the due date for my next battle is Aug. 1.
-Failure to submit shoes by the DUE DATE may result in a forfeiture of the individual battle. The address to ship to is:
3R Customs

-All entries must be brand new, dead stock and authentic.
-All entries will be equally and professionally photographed. Each participant will receive a CD of pictures taken for the Clash FREE of charge.
-There will be a minimum of 1 month between rounds.
-Participants must submit relatively new work that has not been posted in the forums. (amended for special circumstances)
-If an entry is a collaboration, it is allowed, but may only be credited to one person. If the collaboration is with the person you are actively in a battle with, it may not be used.
-There are no drugs, pornography, suggestive, offensive, insulting or controversial content allowed. If you think your entry may be questionable, please email me or PM me with the idea or picture and I will approve or disapprove it in accordance with the rules of the forum.
-There will be no themed rounds or battles.
-The staff reserves the right to change and/or modify any rule for the betterness of the competition. The membership will be notified via this thread and the changes will be identified in red and blue.
-The final grand prize will include a trophy and a minimum of $500.
The Contest:
————————————————
-The overall competition for this year will be a bracket-style, single elimination contest. Each week, a new battle will take place pitting customizers head to head with one another.
-There will be 28 participants that may compete in up to 5 battles.
-Participants will be randomly drafted into their positions in the bracket.
-The winner of the battle will move on in the winner’s bracket and the loser will be eliminated.
-The battles will continue until we have one final grand prize winner.
-Each battle will have the same due date. The battles will be staggered and posted in the lounge for voting from the public and will be sent out to 5 judges.
-When you submit a pair to battle, you can choose whether or not to: “display only”, “sell”, or “auction”. If you choose to “display only,” then your pair(s) will be shipped back to you at no additional cost after the showcase. If you choose to “sell,” you choose at what cost you want to sell the customs for and if they sell, you will receive 100% of the income. If they do not sell, they will be shipped back to you at no additional cost. If you choose to “auction,” then the shoes will be auctioned via silent auction and 75% will go toward a charity to be later determined and 25% will go back to the customizer. If they do not get sold at auction, they will be shipped back to you at no additional cost.
-Each participant is required to submit at least one pair. If you choose to, you can use that one pair to battle each battle to the very end. If you choose to battle the same pair in each battle, you will be docked 10% of the vote for each round the pair has appeared. (For example, if you use the same pair in round 3 as you did in round 1 and round 2, then you will be docked 20% of the vote.) You may also submit a new pair to battle in each battle provided that it is received before the due date of the round.
-Once a pair has been replaced, it cannot be used again within the battle without repercussion. You will be docked the same percentage amount for each battle that has passed as if the pair had not been replaced. (For example: if you use a pair in round 1 and replace it in round 2, then you want to use the same pair from round 1 in round 3, then you will be docked 20% of the vote for round 3.)
-If a new pair is not submited by the due date, then the previous pair will be automatically used and the 10% dock will be applied to the vote. (or more considering the amount of times the pair has been used within the battle)
Voting:
————————————————
-Monthly judges may change throughout each battle so one panel may never be the same. DO NOT CONTACT ME ASKING TO BE A JUDGE!
-Judges will vote based on criteria below:
- originality
- cleanliness/execution
- theme/concept
- flow (colorway/organization/placement of graphics)
- totality (idea of being whole, complete)
- overall (possessing the best balance of criteria)
-Public voting will be done by the members via posting in the Lounge. No polls. Voting will take place for two days.
-Only members with a membership longer than 3 months are allowed to participate. Members must also have at least 50 posts. I apologize if it seems unfair, but this is the only way to prevent cheating that has taken place in contests I’ve seen before.
-Any public votes that are left ambiguous (ex: i like B and D the best) will not be counted.
-Final results will be a combination of judge votes and public votes and will be posted in a contest discussion thread in the customs forums within 3 days of public voting finishing.
-If there is a tie, the tiebreaker will be the majority vote of the judges.
-The final battle will be displayed at the gallery location and the winner will be announced on opening night.

————————————————
-All entries submitted will be displayed in a gallery space in Los Angeles for two weeks starting on December 12, 2009. Location is yet to be determined.
-All entries submitted with the “auction” designation will be put up for silent auction at the gallery starting at a base price of $100. Bid increments will be $25.
-The silent auction will be conducted throughout the two weeks that the gallery is opened.
-On the opening night, we will have a VIP party/Summit where we will invite celebrities, press, and other guests. Invitation and RSVP will be required!
-Funds that will be collected for charity will be put toward a charity to be determined at a later date.
-Any administrative funds left over will be donated to the named charities.
-THE SILENT AUCTION IS OPENED TO ANYONE WHO WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE! You may donate anything art related to be auctioned off.
-You may also send extra pairs and art to sell or display at your discretion. If you send extra work that doesn’t sell or you choose to display only, you must pay for the costs to ship the items back. You set the price to everything you send.
-TO DISPLAY IS OPEN TO EVERYONE ASWELL! But, if you’re not apart of the Clash of the Customizers, then you must pay a $100 display fee. Please submit your pair(s) by September 1st to the address above.
-Any pairs that are put up for Display Only, or for Sale or Auction that don’t get sold and that are not apart of the Clash itself, will be shipped back at the customizer’s expense.
